Staged Reading Series 2018

In News,Playwrights,Projects,Theater by adminAENY / September 17, 2018 / 0 Comments

AENY – Spanish Artists in New York returns to the stage for our revered Staged Reading Series, a showcase of contemporary theater from Spain in New York City. Over three evenings this fall (Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 10), we will present distinct work from emerging Spanish voices at Instituto Cervantes. Each selection represents the best of Spain’s theater scene, and AENY will produce one of these works as a fully staged production in 2019. Choose from a powerful array of new work from Spain: Dark Stone (La piedra oscura) sets a story of difference and reconciliation against Spain’s most painful episode, The Civil War. Liberto enters the world of a new mother navigating her newborn’s illness and the subsequent existential questions that emerge. And El Minuto de Payaso is an extraordinary monologue that reflects upon art’s ability to mitigate misery. Join us after each performance for complimentary wine and discussion.

Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 10 at 6pm / Instituto Cervantes, 211 E 49th St, New York, NY 10017 / FREE
